The Gift

Meredith Music Festival has been going for 20 years, and on the last day there is a brief race called "The Crumpler Meredith Gift". This race is sponsored by Crumpler, who makes special edition bags that are the object and the goal of the race. 

It's a primeval dash and a dirty scramble of  naked men in the dust. What attracted this photographer is that there are no pauses and no posing. And the fact of him never having seen a penis, in his entire life  before, and it was a shocking.

Overheard at the race-

 “Run for the laugh at yourself. Run to bring on some rain. Run to forget about death.”
